Curry hit the game-winning shot for the Warriors, pulling up from approximately 36 feet with three seconds left in OT.
His ability to consistently hit shots well beyond the three-point line has many people calling him the greatest shooter in NBA history.
Legendary NBA coach Phil Jackson doesn't seem to think so, however.
Jackson tweeted that Curry reminds him of players like Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, who had a short stint in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets, averaging 16.0 points per game on 35.4 percent from the three-point line.
Curry also recently drew criticism from NBA legend Oscar Robertson, who believes that Curry is shooting so well because of poor perimeter defense. Curry is not like other players in that he can make shots once he passes half court. In response, NBA defenses are beginning to press him as soon as possible to take away time and space. But this is not a revolutionary strategy. Curry is a phenomenal shooter with a quick release and textbook form. He is a natural born shooter, which is why he continues to amaze NBA fans with his incredible circus-like shots.Never seen anything like SCurry? Remind you of Chris Jackson/ Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, who had a short but brilliant run in NBA?— Phil Jackson (@PhilJackson11) February 28, 2016
@StephenCurry30 needs to stop it man!! He's ridiculous man! Never before seen someone like him in the history of ball!— LeBron James (@KingJames) February 28, 2016
Maybe with a few more circus shots, he'll have the respect of NBA legends as wellBack to back game with 10 three's??!?????! Video game....— Dirk Nowitzki (@swish41) February 28, 2016
Do you think Steph Curry is the best shooter ever ?
Great informative article!
ReplyDeleteSteph curry is the best shooter to ever step foot in the NBA.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Stephen Curry is not only the best shooter to ever play but quiet arguably one of the best players ever. He shoots lights out and no one can contend with him. Not only can he shoot but he can dribble and pass better than I have ever seen any one do.

ReplyDeleteI don't follow basketball that much but i cant help but hear the hype the impact Stephen Curry has on the game, he is a major reason his team is successful. I think he is the best shooter because he has consistency for a while now. like the article mentioned his form and release is so quick that it is incontestable. I however think other players have excelled just as well at their crafts whether it be defense, the paint, etc. If he becomes just as good in all other areas to the point his three pointers are, then he is in the running for best player all around
ReplyDeleteCurry is a great player, I don't know what it is he does but whatever it is it's working! As far a shooting wise I think he is good.
ReplyDeleteI don't pay attention to following up on basketball but all I'm going to say is the numbers don't lie. There is always going to be a disagreement to whose the best rapper, player, singer in the world but in reality it can only be judged by the album sales and stats. Any other judgement is considered an opinion.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Steph curry is the greatest shooter because he has broke all possible shooting records including having more 3 point shots in one season than Magic Johnson's whole career.
ReplyDeleteI believe Curry is the greatest shooter. Even though my favorite player is LeBron James. I still believe that anyone who can break records and shoot the way he does and in the long distant spots where he shoots should be at least in the top 5 shooter category.
