Kobe's Last Call

Kobe Bryant's Last game was held in Los Angeles on April 13th  against the Utah Jazz. Coming into the game many sports watchers had to wonder one simple but crucial question. should they watch the Warriors potential record breaking game or the all time great Kobe Bryant's last game. Many others including me decided to watch one of our favorites ever lace up one last time. Coming into this game with intentions to put on a show one last time for his fans Kobe came out Firing. However Kobe just didn't seem to have it coming out. Bryant started 0 for 5 before finally scoring on leaning jump shot after an amazing block to finally get him on the board. For anyone that has ever watched Bryant play they know he can catch on fire quickly and so he did. Bryant then proceeded to hit 4 more straight shots after that. once halftime came around Bryant had a total of 22 points. With  about three minutes left in the game and the Lakers down ten Bryant was at 45 for the game. Most people thought the game was over but Bryant however pulled out another classic moment to add to his career ending on 5-5 shooting with 15 points and a game winner to give him 60 against the Utah Jazz. Bryant now holds the record for the most points scored in the last game of a players career.

Fuller House

If you are looking for something new to watch on Netflix, I really recommend watching Fuller House! I basically grew up watching the original television serious Full House, just like almost everyone. I really like how they decided to make a reunion show. Netflix released the full season a couple of months ago. I remember the first day it was released, I sat and binge watched all thirteen episodes back to back. They were all really that good and of course,
really funny. The whole original cast is in the new season, from Dannie Tanner, to Uncle Jessie's and Aunt Becky's twin boys, Nicky and Alex. The only people who are missing from the cast are Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who play Michelle Tanner. Mary Kate and Ashley basically refused to act on the new season, saying they were just too busy, and also saying they just didn't act anymore. Even though they are missing from the cast, the new season is still amazing if you ask me.

  • Did you ever watch Full House?
  • Have you seen the new season Fuller House?
  • If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Moving To New Places

Ever since elementary school I moved from one place to another. I moved during my 2nd grade year to Atlanta and moved to two different schools while I was there. The middle of my 5th grade year, I moved back to my hometown and I finished 5th grade and started my middle school year in my hometown until half of my 7th grade year. 7th grade is when I moved to Virginia and finished the rest of my year there. I was miserable there, so I ended up moving back to my hometown for my 8th grade year and for my first year of high school. I was happy to be home, but that all changed in 10th grade. I moved to Charlotte. I thought I would be there for the rest of my high school years, but I only stayed for one year and moved backed to my hometown for good.  Out of all of my years of moving, I was able to find Atlanta as my favorite place to live. I was building a lot of friendships and I liked how there were so many things to do there.
Questions:
- Have you ever had to move? If so, would you like to go back?
- If you never moved before, where would you like to move to?

Bullying

Recently a video has made its way all through the internet about a little girl being jumped and she eventually died in the hospital. Allegedly it was all over a boy. No one will really know what happened because a lot of the information behind it all has not been told. After people found out about this, everyone went crazy. I seen people on facebook, and twitter speaking about bullying and giving their opinions. A lot of parents were upset because they believe a lot could've been prevented, and basically they are sending their kids to school to learn only and to not get bullied, or hurt. I've never really been bullied before but I have definitely had to defend myself a couple of times against girls who wanted trouble. I do not tolerate bullying all, and if I'm ever in a situation where I witness someone being bullied, I will defend them.

Question: What are your thoughts about this story?
What are your thoughts on bullying?
Have you witness bullying, or been bullied?

Freshman Year

Freshman year for me has been an eye opener, and full of nothing but lessons learned. I can truly say that coming here has changed me. I use to be a shy person in high school, and just mainly focused on sports to bring me friends. First semester I struggled with getting out and making friends here, but they came naturally! I have met some really great people here. It's really true when they say college will bring out a side of you that you never knew. Here is totally different, but a good different! I absolutely love it here. I love who I am becoming, and  I am excited to see what the next 3 years here brings me.

Question: What changes have you seen in yourself so far while being here?

90s and Early 2000s Cartoons

I tend to watch a lot of TV. My favorite thing to watch would have to be cartoons. This generations cartoons are not really interesting to me though. Nickelodean and Disney Channel really have downgraded when it comes to this. The new cartoons really have NOTHING on old cartoons. Some of my all time favorites are:

  • The Proud Family
  • That's So Raven
  • CatDog
  • Rugrats
  • Doug
  • Powerpuff Girls
  • All That
  • Rocko's Modern Life
  • Brandy and Mr Whiskers
  • Kim Possible
  • Lizzie McGuire
  • Hey Arnold
  • Ed, Edd, and Eddy
And that's just a few! Although some networks have recently started to bring back some of these cartoons, it will never be the same.

  • Do you prefer old cartoons or the new ones?
  • What are your favorites?

Catfish

This week a very interesting episode of Catfish was aired. In the new episode an 18 year old girl, named Kayla, wrote in to Nev and Max saying someone named Courtnye had been contacting her. Courtnye claimed she had been talking to Kayla's father who had passed away many years ago. Kayla's father had hanged and killed himself in prison while serving a life sentence for stabbing and killing his girlfriend, Kayla's mom, while having a mental breakdown. Even though the story was widely publicized and a lot of people knew about the story, Courtnye knew information that no one else besides Kayla's family members knew. Courtnye live thousands of miles away making it hard for her and Kayla to meet face to face to discuss the conversations that she had been having with her Kayla's father. Nev and Max were of course very skeptical and spooked out about the whole situation. No one knew whether or not to believe Courtnye. Was she really able to talk to a dead person, or was she just some weird and crazy woman making the whole thing up. Finally Kayla and Courtnye were able to meet up with each other. Cournye was able to answer questions that no one outside of Kayla's family knew about. Everyone then really had no choice but to believe that Courtnye was indeed able to talk to the dead.
Have you seen this new and crazy episode of Catfish?
Do you really think that some people have the abilty to talk to dead people?

Tattoo Controversy

There is a lot of controversy about whether or not having tattoos are a good or bad thing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I do not think that people should judge others because they have tattoos. Many people think that because you are tattooed, you are trashy, unprofessional, dumb, unemployed, and other horrible things like that. I think that that makes no sense at all. Why should you judge someone just because they have art on their bodies and who are you to tell them that they are dumb for doing so?
I think that having tattoos are a great way to express yourself. I have a tattoo that is fairly big, starting at my shoulder, going onto the top of my arm, and ending almost at the middle of my back. I have a tattoo of many different flowers and butterflies, and I also have a tattoo that says "Faith". I think that my tattoo expresses who I am because I think that it is very girly and I really love flowers, and anything floral print. I love my tattoo , but many people say that I will regret getting it in the future, I think that they are absolutely wrong. tattoos are becoming very popular these days. The thought that a company may not hire me because I have a tattoo is crazy to me. Workplaces are not supposed to judge people because of their age, looks, ethnicity, or the way that they look, so why should they judge me, because I am tattooed? When I got my tattoo, I did think of these things, so I made sure that my tattoo is able to be covered when wearing a short sleeve shirt.
So the question here is, what are your opinions on tattoos? Do you have any tattoos, if not, do you plan on getting any, why or why not?

Lemonade

There has been a big uproar as Beyonce released her newest album called “Lemonade”. This was a very uplifting, cultural inspired album. Lemonade was released on HBO on April 23, 2016 as a visual album. There were mothers featured in these videos, such as Michael Brown and  Trayvon Martin mother’s. These were the mothers of the young black boys that were killed by police officers unlawfully. In the song “Sorry” that was released on the album she made a statement saying, “He better call up Becky with the good hair”. Many people took offense in this in the blogs and TV shows after her released and spoke badly on her for making this remark. I don’t believe Beyonce was trying to create a racial controversy, she was trying to bring light unto the fact that a lot of black women and others believe that caucasian and other ethnicity beside theirs have “good hair”. This is a big problem within the black community because there are many girls who don’t believe that they are good enough or beautiful enough because of the stereotypes of our hair not being “good hair”. Within Beyonce’s entire album she is explaining the greatness of our culture and the beauty in it. This comment also had a lot of people wondering who this “Becky” was and has Jay Z been cheating. There were many assumptions saying that this Becky could be Rita Ora, Jay Z artist. Rumors has started going around giving many pictures of Jay Z and Rita Ora being a little friendly. With the privacy of Bey and Jay, we will never know. Beyonce leaves her fans and many others with the thoughts of wondering and many rumors to be passed around. I personally don’t believe that Jay Z and Beyonce has had any controversy recently. Beyonce is a wonderful artist and is trying to give her fans things that they can relate to. She is a very artistic and amazing artist and her career is only getting better.
  • How do you feel about the comment Beyonce made about referring to white girls as "Becky"?
  • Do you think Jay Z has been messing around with Rita?
  • If you've heard the album, what were your thoughts of it?

Transgender restrooms

Recently, there has been a lot more in the news about the transgendered community. However, now the conversation has shifted from Caitlyn Jenner to something more relevant- allowing individuals of the transgendered community to use the same public facilities as those of us that are not. This conversation has sent the nation into an uproar.
In order to take an accurate stance on the situation, one must understand what it means. “Sex” is what it means to be male or female biologically, whereas “gender” is how a person relates to that psychologically. Keep in mind that the term “transgender” does not necessarily mean “cross-dresser”.
Many states like North Carolina, have passed laws that force transgendered individuals to use public restrooms that correspond with the gender on their birth certificate, not the gender they now identify with. Like many states, major corporations like Target, Lord & Taylor, and Barnes &Noble are getting in on the action. Target has introduced a policy that allows transgendered people to use the facility of their choice. Consequently, a petition has been circulated by the American Family Association, boycotting Target stores, which has accumulated almost 750,000 signatures.
Much of the opposition of the idea stems from fear, ignorance, or both. The major argument is that it is unsafe to have what is technically a “man”, share restrooms with women and little girls, and vice versa. But ultimately, if a transgendered person is going to the restroom, it is for the same reason as someone who is not. If someone is going into public restrooms for purposes other than that, it could be anyone of any orientation- gay, straight, lesbian, transgender, or otherwise. Putting laws into place that infringe on the rights of the transgender community does not change that.

Amy Inita Joyner

There has been a lot of tragedies that has been going on lately and the story of Amy Inita Joyner was a heart breaking story. Amy was a 16 year old sophomore that went to Howard High School of Technology that had an altercation with other girls which broke out into a fight where she was seriously harmed and died. There are many stories claiming whether this fight was or was not over a boy but the results should have never ended in death. Amy allegedly went to the bathroom before class around 8:15 AM to talk about the situation but this escalated. Amy was jumped by a group of girls where her head was hit on the bathroom sink and she was critically injured. She was taking out of the school by the paramedics onto a helicopter where she was rushed to A.I Dupont Children’s Hospital. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The Mayor Dennis Williams said that the girls will be in serious trouble and would be doing a substantial amount of  time in prison. He was very emotional as he announced her death on and claimed “My heart bleeds for the family”. There are many students that said Amy was a very sweet girl and was easy to talk to. Some even said that she didn’t believe in fighting so the cause of her death being a fight was very ironic. Students mourned after the announcement of her death and classes was cancelled the rest of the school day. Wilmington police Chief Bobby Cummings spoke for the first time at a town hall meeting assuring the community the charges will be filed against the girls who were involved.

  • How think the girls should be charged or should it be taken as a mistake?
  • If the girls are charged, should they be charged as adults or juveniles?
  • How do you feel about the situation?

Deflategate

Deflategate  might be old news but it has been brought back up. For those of you that do not know what deflategate is, I am referring to when Tom Brady and the New England Patriots  got caught for tampering with game balls. They were accused of letting air out of the footballs so that it would be easier for Tom Brady to throw the ball. There is an NFL rule that there must be so much air in the football and the Patriots broke that rule. Many believe this helped them when the AFC championship and Super Bowl of 2015. After being caught the NFL suspended Tom Brady for the first four games of the  next season. After going to court the suspension was eventually lifted and Tom Brady played the full season. On April 25 2016 the US Court of Appeals reinstated Tom Brady's four game suspension for the 2016-2017 season.

This is a big deal to a lot of sports fan especially the Tom Brady haters. Some say Brady had nothing to do with it and that it was just the Patriots equipment manager. I am not exactly sure who's fault it was but either way its cheating and that is wrong. I personally think they should have left it in the past because I feel like everyone forgot about it, but now its a big deal again. Maybe Tom Brady will just serve his suspension and this will all be put behind the NFL and its fans.

How do you feel about cheating when it comes to sports?
Do you think he should serve the suspension?

How the first year of college changed me.

My first year of college has been fun...
However, College is a huge step from your high school year to the college life. College changes you for the better. Being far away from home and not being able to see your parents every day like you use too, makes you become more independent.
Once you learn how to become independent, then your 4 years of  college would seem like its flying by.
College is terrifying in a way because now that your first year is over, you just have three more years then you’re an adult paying bills and going to work and trying to be stable in life. Yet, Reality doesn’t kick in until move in day your first year of college. My whole high school years I was always thinking about going to college. Then when the 4 years of high school passes by you realize your standing on stage about to get your diploma, then reality starts to set in.
But, college changes you as a whole let me tell you why….
Your intellectual interests and valued friendships change as a result of your personal development through the college years. Being able to manage your emotions, time, friendships, homework, relaxation, partying, and being able to eat is sometimes difficult. Too much of one can make you fall off with another. I feel like a college is a weighing scale where you have to weigh everything out so your taking care yourself and making sure that you don’t have any mental break downs as well, because they become very common in college.
Mental breakdowns as well as home sickness are things college students go through but we get through it.
When you’re in college your interest change, the people you hang around you change and you soon realize that you only have about 1-4 best friends in college that actually are your “best friends”. Then you have the ones in your hometown that are upset that they are seeing a change in you but you don’t see it.
You start to see that you call your parents more then you ever did. Many are so quick to get away from their parents but then when you’re in college, you miss them so much and how they used to always be there for you physically and emotionally.
After your freshman year, it’s like getting over a huge hill because after that college becomes more easy to cope with some people don’t make it over this hill but that’s how college tests you, your ability to go into a new environment and be able to become independent and to become an adult.
My first year of college has changed me and will continue to mold me through out the remaining years.

Is Lying Acceptable?

Recently I had a conversation about lying with my boyfriend, and we have two very different perspectives. He feels like it is never okay to lie to anyone...ever...period. Whether it be a big lie or a small lie. In his opinion, if someone will lie about something super small, they will lie about something huge. He applies this to all aspects of life. He thinks if you start out doing little misdemeanor crimes that you will eventually end up murdering someone. Or if you start out smoking a little weed, that that will be the gateway drug to you eventually doing crack one day.

I, on the other hand, disagree. I feel like in certain circumstances, it is okay to lie. For example, if a woman has a child that is five years old, and she dies an extremely bloody/terrible death, I don't think one should tell the child every little detail of their mothers murder. In my opinion, they should "lie"/ fluff the truth considering the circumstances. My boyfriend thinks that the child should know everything and their is no point to lie.

He feels like if you lie to someone, you are disrespecting them because basically you feel like they couldn't "handle" the truth.

I agree to a certain extent. I feel like you shouldn't lie, but sometimes people actually can't handle the truth, and that's when it's okay to lie.

He disagrees with me because he feels like, who am I to say if someone can or can't "handle" the truth. That's not my place.

We never really did come to a conclusion on this particular subject, which is why I brought it to this blog. How do you all feel about lying? Do you think it is acceptable, or no? thoughts?

What's your Favorite Movie?

Personally, I have a plethora of favorite movies. It really just depends on the genre I'm in the mood for. I have some favorite comedies, romances, romantic comedies, action/adventures, you name it. Tonight I watched one of my favorites titled The Fault In Our Stars.

The Fault In Our Stars is a drama/romance movie that came out in June of 2014 about two teenage cancer patients that fall in love. I don't want to spoil the rest for you if you haven't seen it, but just believe me when I say it ends pretty sad. Some would call it a "chick flick" but I recommend everyone to watch this movie at least once, even the men out there.

I honestly don't usually cry in movies, unless it's extremely sad. I promise you I've never cried so much in my entire life after the first time I saw this movie. And I continue to bawl my eyes out every time I see The Fault In Our Stars, it never fails. I'm talking headache, runny nose, boo-hoo crying.

The performance that the two main characters Shailene Woodly and Ansel Elgort put on is truly breath-taking. As an actor myself, I can really appreciate the their ability to take the viewer on such an unimagined journey. This movie has wonderful way of sucking you into the beautiful world of Hazel Grace Lancaster and Agustus Waters. If you ever need a good movie to watch, The Fault In Our Stars is the movie for you!

Now that I shared one of my favorite movies, I'd like to know about some of your favorite movies and why?? I'm always looking for good movie suggestions!

Kobe Bryant The Last Chapter

Kobe Bryant Last few Games In The NBA

As the regular season nears the end one older superstar is on his final tour of the NBA. Kobe Bean Bryant has had a career that some people would consider the best ever. In his 20 year career so far he has totaled 33498 points which is the third most in NBA history. Kobe also holds the record for the most threes in a game at twelve as well as the second most points in a game with 81. Not only has Kobe put up almost unseen numbers but he has also won numerous times at a higher level with five NBA championships and gold medals with the USA team. With eight games left in the regular season and no type of playoff hopes these last games serve as a good bye tour for Bryant where fans from around the country and even world are coming out to see Kobe play one more time. On Sunday the Lakers will play the Boston Celtics at Staples Center for the last time of the Kobe Era. This will be the last time that Kobe will get to participate in this rivalry. With a small amount of time to watch the end of one of the greatest to ever play I will definitely be one of thousands to watch the end of this historic run. Will you?

Record Chasing Golden State Warriors

Can the Golden State Warriors Break The 95-96 Chicago Bulls record?

The Golden State Warriors are on the verge of breaking the NBA record for the most wins the regular season. The previous record was held by the 95-96 Chicago Bulls who went 72-10 which up to date no one other than the Golden State Warriors have even came close breaking that record. With five games left in the regular season the Warriors can only afford to lose one more game which would give them a 73-9 record. The Warriors next game will be against a tough young Timberwolves team who has been on the rise lately. After that the Warriors will have a tough four game schedule which will be a major test for the team. The two teams that the Warriors will face are the Spurs and the Grizzlies. The Spurs and their head coach Greg Popovich have a history of sitting people at the end of the regular season for rest and also to avoid any injuries. However the Grizzlies who are fighting to keep the fifth seed and even playoff hopes however will come in fighting for their lives.  The Bulls record is very much in reach for the Warriors but it won’t be a walk in the park for the team.

Cheating

Recently, news of the couple Kehlani and Kyrie’s relationships caused a large media response. Kehlani, a young RnB singer from Oakland, and Kyrie, a point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, have a publically known relationship and it is clear from Kyrie’s Instagram posts his feelings for Kehlani and how much he loves her. Though they have very busy schedules they still find time to spend with one another and let each other know how much they appreciate one another. Though every relationships has their problems, this couple’s relationship appeared to be strong and on the rise. However after some posts from PartyNextDoor, a singer and ex-boyfriend of Kehlani, it was evident that Kyrie and Kehlani’s relationship was nearing its end. PND, PartyNextDoor, posted a picture of Kehlani in his bed and his caption read something like, ‘got her back in my bed.’ Once the picture was posted it was not much longer before media went crazy and all types of posts relating to the situation began to air. Many people, mostly men, had a lot to say about Kehlani, because “she cheated.” Many posts referenced how she makes so many songs about heartbreak and then does something like this, especially her song, FWU, where she repeatedly says “He only loves me cause I’m loyal”. She received a lot of backlash for ‘cheating’, which Kyrie said is not true, and for going back to her ex. Many people compared PartyNextDoor and Kyrie and how Kyrie makes so much more money and treats her better and is an upgrade from PND. After news of Kehlani and Kyrie’s relationship aired, Kehlani began to feel the heat and did not how to take it. She started to delete her social media accounts, such as SnapChat and Instagram. But before she deleted her accounts, she posted a picture on Instagram basically stating all the attacks she received from the media and the judgements from people around her made her attempt suicide. After the post, her situation went from bad to worse, as people began questioning her motive behind the post. Was she seeking attention? Was she trying to diverge the situation from her ‘cheating’ to her being hurt? Was she trying to get people back on her side again? Whatever the case may be, Kyrie Irving’s longtime friend, Chris Brown, had a lot to say about Kehlani. Chris Brown made posts on both his Twitter and his Instagram throwing shot at Kehlani. For example, one post on Instagram was a picture of her and Chris before Kehlani was famous and considered ‘bad.’ On twitter he pointed out the suicide attempt and voiced his opinions on how he thought it was a bad plea for attention. To me this situation is not weird at all, people cheat and go back to their ex all the time. I feel like cheating is seen as a double standard, like it’s the ultimate sign of betrayal if a woman does it but if a guy does it, it doesn’t really mean anything. So after I heard this situation it reminded myself of a clip about cheating made from Fizz, from Love & Hip Hop LA, and I want to know what you guys think of it. Fast forward to the 9 minute mark.  Love and Hip Hop Cheating Debate
It's the most wonderful time of the year! College basketball itself is very intriguing. Personally I love basketball. I've played since the third grade. I remember growing up and automatically becoming a Tar Heels Fan. It was either them or Duke, and oh no that wasn't happening. Growing up in North Carolina, when it comes to college basketball its the battle of the Blues. Those UNC vs Duke rival games were the highlight of every season! Every year we battle it out and one will advance while the other sits home and watches. Its March Madness now and last year Duke won it all. With all that being said I'm so glad to say that this year UNC has a chance to bring it home. They have worked hard all season and are finally in position to become National Champions, while Duke sits home and watches us this time.

Questions for you all:
Who is your favorite team?  Why?
Do you believe Carolina has what it takes to win it all?

Polo

Who is Polo? He was my dog. Polo was a boxer, who I grew up with since I was 3 years old.  I did everything with him. My dad use to tie his lease onto my bike when we go for walks. My cousins and I would include him in our little imaginary games we played.
For example, (Keep in mind I grew up with all boy cousins and I was the only child at the time) My two cousins and I would play out back in the backyard of my grandmas house. We would act like soldiers and act like we were in war shooting the enemies in the woods and Polo was the "healer," so when we got "hurt" we had to go to him and have Polo lick us for us to become healed from our war wound.
As time went by, I became older and Polo became older. My love for him never died, but always grew. I was not able to see Polo all the time because he no longer stayed with me. He stayed at my grandparent's house.. One day I came to visit, I noticed that Polo was limping. I didn't know why he was hurt and how it happened. My grandparents took him to the vet, but they never told me what the veterinarian had said. Weeks went by and I came back to visit once again, but this time Polo couldn't move both his back legs at all. We had to help him up the steps to get in the house. He couldn't move or jump for excitement anymore.. I later found out that Polo had arthritis and that it spread from one back leg to the other. My grandparents then finally decided one morning to put him down. My cousins and I woke up that morning thinking we would wake up to see him, but he was gone. I was heart broken to find out that my childhood friend was no longer with me. Back then I was so upset to that they put him down, but I now I understand and I didn't want to see him suffer.

My questions for you are..
Did you ever have a pet that you had or still have as kid?
What kind of pet did you or do you have?
How would you feel if your pet had passed ?

My laptop became my long lost oldest sister!

First I want to start off by saying that I have a younger sister and younger brother, so I'm the oldest sibling. My mom and father are currently separated and has been for a while. I've always lived with my mom my whole life and I would visit my dad from time to time.
This story took place about four years ago and it all started from me wanting a new laptop. My dad came in town to visit and he came by to pick me up. He asked if I still wanted to get a laptop and of course I still did because I never got one yet. So he was going to take me to best buy to look at the CPU's and chose which one I wanted. In the car I was really excited and anticipating for my new computer. While we we're riding in the car my farther asked me randomly how would I feel about having a sister. My thought process at that time was that I already have younger siblings and in particular a sister. Then I replied by asking, "why?" He then told me that I have a sister and she lived thirty minutes away. In that instant moment the trip to best buy became a journey to my new sister's house. Once we pulled up at the house, you wouldn't believe it my older sister opens the door and I stood there in disbelief. I instantly had mixed emotions and I did not know what to say or how to feel.

My questions for you all are..
How would you feel if you found out that you had an older sibling?
How would you react?

Kehlani and Kyrie Scandal

Earlier this week, a cheating scandal between young celebrities was the trending topic. I’d like to see what some of your opinions on events that occurred.

First things first, you need to know who’s who.

Kyrie Irving: point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, age 24

Kehlani: singer-songwriter from Oakland, CA

Partynextdoor: singer/rapper from Canada

Okay, so now that you know who's who, here goes the story... so Kehlani and Partynextdoor used to date pretty publicily, but they broke up months ago. Months later Kehlani and Kyrie Irving announced they were in an exclusive and extremely happy relationship.

With that noted, Partynextdoor posted this picture on his Instagram on Monday. Notice that hand?

Many people were confused when they saw Kehlani in Partynextdoor's bed, while she is supposedly supposed to still be a relationship with Kyrie Irving. Partynextdoor deleted the photo soon after, but the media got a hold of it, and the drama blew up. Twitter spent the entire talking about the situation. Most people were criticizing Kehlani for her decisions and calling her awful names. Kehlani along with the rest of the love triangle remained silent for the remainder of the day until about 2am that Monday night when Kehlani posted a picture to Instagram with a caption that implied that she wanted to take her own life.

Twitter then responded in an uproar with numerous posts joking about Kehlani being a hoe and jokes directly related to her suicide attempt.
I say all this to ask what you guys think about this whole situation. Personally, I feel like we tend to forget that these public figures are human beings too at the end of the day with real life feelings and problems. Kehlani is only two years older than me, therefore she is prone to still get caught up in teenage drama. I think the media should have cut her a break. I also think that this is a direct example of how we should never judge because we never know the full story. We have no idea what Kehlani is going through. Suicide is serious, and hopefully this taught people to be more sensitive to what other people are going through.
What do you guys think? How do you all feel about the situation? What is your stance? Why?

White Thievery??

There has been a trend lately on White America "inventing" things that were already invented.. and no this isn't a hate post about white people but somebody has to say something right?
Anyways, the most common cases we see these "new" styles being made came from the African American culture who has been wearing these styles all of their lives but it often goes unnoticed.  Hairstyles and body features that were once shamed upon them are now trendy styles?
Some examples of these styles are:
*Nappy hair
*Big Lips
*Darker Skin
*Thick Thighs
*Big Butts
*Baby Hairs
*Cornrows
*Du Rags
*Eyebrow slits
*Wearing natural hairstyles (Bantu Knots, Afros, etc.)
...just to name a few. About 5 years ago African Americans were picked on about these features but now they're a trendy, high-fashioned, runway look?  These styles are now worn on white women who are celebrities/ models and magazine articles call the looks new and exciting but they have always been here.  I'm not against White America wearing our styles but hey, at least give us credit for it and don't act like you've invented something that has been existing for centuries!
Do you feel that this should be addressed more or what's your opinion about this situation?

Romantic Devastation?

There was a internet crisis going over social media on Monday afternoon about R&B singer Kehalani and how she allegedly cheated on her, NBA superstar, boyfriend Kyrie Irving with her ex.  Kehalani's ex is also a R&B singer who goes by the name of "PartyNextDoor"(PND).

PND's post on Instagram was the spark of social media's attacks.  He posted a picture in bed, watching TV.  No faces were shown but hands were.  Kehlani has some pretty noticeable tats all over her body and especially on her hands which everyone quickly recognized as PND quickly deleted his post after posting it.  PND also had a caption under his post, "After all her shenanigans, still got the R&B singer in my bed.".. sounds pretty scandalous to me...

The next day, media found out that Kehlani actually tried to commit suicide the night before.  This made some of the rude jokes and comments on Instagram and on Twitter vanish but others had no sympathy at all.  She followed up with a post on Instagram of herself in a hospital bed explaining the "situationship".  Her post explained that she had broken up with Kyrie before she had gotten back with PND.  She ended the day with a picture of PND with his head down resting on her hospital bed with the caption, "thank you for saving my life."

Do you feel that Kehlani's story was a "cry for help" or do you actually feel bad about the situation at all?
