A billionaire has built a replica of the RMS Titanic
(see the article) and it is slated to sail in 2018. I wonder if they
will completely flout fate and sail its maiden voyage for April 10?
To ride or not to ride? That is the question. Not that I
could afford it, this is strictly a rhetorical question, but is an
interesting quandary. On the one hand, statistically, it should be
safe. It should also technologically be safe. I mean, what are the
odds that TWO Titanics would sink on their maiden voyage? Right?
On the other hand, the first Titanic
was also supposed to be "technologically safe" too and my
primitive, superstitious inner monkey-brain thinks it goes against all
sense of self-preservation to ride anything that is modeled after
such an ill-fated ship.

I don't think this titanic will sink.
ReplyDeleteIf they made it exactly like the Titanic I don't know about that personally. However, time has changed and technology has changed so I believe they made a replica of the titanic but when it comes to the the inside work of the ship I believe it's more efficient, so thats something I would take into consideration. Personally I do not like ships lol.

ReplyDeleteI agree, just watching the movie I could tell my bank account does not have enough coins to board that ship. I wouldn't get on it if I did, reason being; I'm afraid of going to far out on the water. I believe in "creatures", maybe not sea monsters exactly, but I know there's something that will eat me alive without question.
ReplyDeleteNo, I do not think this titanic will sink. With all the technology nowadays it is almost 100% effective.
ReplyDeleteThough I probably couldn't afford this once in a lifetime trip, If I could I would go. The naval architecture of this day and age would make the Titanic much safer than back in the day.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely get on this ship if I had the money. I believe it would be completely safe. There is very little chance that this ship would sink but anything could happen. However the original titanic was claimed to be unsinkable. I am positive that with all the technology these days like radar that this ship would not hit an iceberg and sink. It would be pretty epic to be on a replica of the Titanic. If i had the opportunity to ride I would take it!

ReplyDeleteI personally would not get on this ship due to my fear of the events that happened before on the Titanic ship but I do not think the ship will sink.
ReplyDeleteI hope it doesn't sink but I'm never risking my life on something modeled after a failure.
ReplyDeleteI would Jump on this ship so fast. I've never been on a cruise ship let alone anything bigger than a small boat. Even if it did sink I am sure there will be first responders that are a lot more attentive then it was back then. If i could afford to ride this ship i would try and find all the places the movie shots took place and everything. If you got hurt you could always sue, then you would be rich and could say you sailed the titanic 2. i bet the ship will sail in some sort of fleet just in case anything went awry. It would be a once in a lifetime experience
ReplyDeleteI would love to finally go on a cruise, especially if it was as nice as the Titanic was. I would definitely hop on board on this ship. I am a person who believes in "it was already written" so if something happens, it was meant to happen. And we have wayyy newer technology now so I believe it would be much safer than the original Titanic.
ReplyDeleteI probably wont ride the new titanic, simply because I think it is just creepy. Even though I know it more than likely will not sink for a second time, it still is kind of weird, and the whole time I would be on the ship, I would be thinking about the first Titanic and I would be paranoid the whole time.
