Everyone said college was awesome. I was willing to believe anything after spending 4 years in High School. High School had its good and bad moments but I was definitely ready to graduate. I haven't exactly seen that college is "awesome". I do think it is better than high school though. There are probably a few reasons why I haven't found college to be as enjoyable as everyone else has. First off I don't live on campus. I commute daily and have about a 40 minute drive. So technically I am not getting the full college experience. Secondly its Freshman year. The year we take the large work load of core classes. The same old classes we took in high school just harder. I don't think there is anyone that enjoys taking math, biology, history, and English all at one time. I have had to do that both semesters and it is miserable. I have been told that it does get better by upperclassman. I sure hope they are right about that. I have learned that you can not get by in college if you don't study continuously and are not organized like you could in High School. It is a totally different ball game in college. The work load is very large. Hopefully after the first few years it will slow down and be a lot more enjoyable. I am not saying I haven't enjoyed my freshman year because I have met a bunch of people and learned a lot of things. This year has definitely been stressful. It's coming to a close with only about a month left of the semester and I couldn't be happier. I think all of us are ready for summer break. Freshman year has been a good experience and hopefully we all will come in for our sophomore year in the fall and be a lot more comfortable.
My questions for you are:
How has your Freshman experience been?
Have you enjoyed it?
Do you look forward to the rest of college?
My freshman year has been fun so far. It has also been kind of stressful. It took me a while to adjust. I do look forward to the rest of my college years. Hopefully it only gets better!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate that college is definitely stressful! But besides the overload on work, I really have fun everyday here. I meet someone new everyday and that's always a plus to me. Even though I have so much fun, I am beyond ready for summer, I really need a break. I'm looking forward to the rest of college to push myself more academically.
ReplyDeleteMy freshman experience has been pretty good so far. I have met many great people so far and really have had many stories to tell. I do look forward to college but I look to staying off campus next year. I just don't like how they tell you that you are grown and on your own but when you come to your dorm they treat you like a kid. We have room checks to see how clean our room is, We have a specific time where we can and cannot have visitors. To me that is childish and does not make the experience the best because its lame.
ReplyDeleteMy freshman experience has been so stressful. The load of work puts a big weight on my shoulders. The experience of living on campus is not for me. I have been thinking about moving off campus, so I can be alone, focus on my work, and be surrounded by a clean and quiet environment. On the bright side, all of this will be coming to end and I will get a break for a while and hopefully when I return I will be off campus next time.
ReplyDeleteMy freshman year has been such an experience! I've learned more about myself and life in these past months than I have my entire life. College really forces yo to step out of your comfort zone and learn new things. I am thankful for my experiences and I can't wait to knock out the rest of college, and have a great time while doing so!
ReplyDeleteFreshman year started off rocky. I missed home where all my family and friends were. Towards the end of freshman semester I felt more comfortable with A&T. I do enjoy college very much but it's easy to get side tracked. Now I bearly reply to text.
